Amazing Facts

About Our Lines

You can make a tiny animation look gigantic on a page for web, according to the rules of hyperspace.

Behold the animated line above,  swaying back and forth like a shooting star.

View the tiny animation directly below these words.  You need to look "real hard" to see the teeny-weeny line.

The teeny-weeny animated line is identical to the big animated line.

To make the little line look big, we displayed it at a size that is larger than actual.

The only line displayed at actual size upon this page is the teeny-weeny animation that is hard to see.

Little graphics usually download at the speed of light.  Perhaps that explains how we got our name.  We are Light Speed Web Graphics.

Fun Facts

On a page for web, you can make any line -- or any other picture -- appear to be of any size -- of any width, and of any height you desire -- with help from a web-builder code that is called "CSS."

CSS is generally known by another name, too, and that other name is "style."  All modern browsers are set to read style by default.  You may choose ANY dimensions of height and width for each picture displayed on your page, ... but you need to use "style" to do the job right.

However, you don't need to know very much about "style."  All you need, really, is excellent software like Microsoft FrontPage, a web-maker application that writes style for you, automatically, when needed.

Look for the word "style" among the menus and the buttons of your web-maker software.

Same line, made to appear to be

20 pixels high and 100% long.

Same line, 5 copies, made to appear to be

1 pixel high and 90% long (each).

Use Our Lines as Pictures

On Your Pages

You can make pictures look big or small without making changes to the pictures themselves.  Pictures are ones and zeros, like everything else on the Internet.  You may display any picture at any dimensions of width and height that you like.

All animated lines on this page are one pixel tall and 100 pixels wide.  But we made those lines look much bigger.

We are not trying to fool you.  We are trying to help you. Use tiny graphics, make them look big, and your pages will load at the speed of light.

Question:  How many lines on this page are displayed at "true size?"

Answer:  Only a few.  The red line below is displayed at actual size.
